You can connect with our mining history at the Derby Schoolhouse Museum and then see for yourself the Derby Tunnel where you will duck beneath the low ceiling through an eerie dark hole dug by a miner.

Maybe pristine water is more your vibe, go fishing, swimming or paddle a canoe around the Briseis Waterhole or see for yourself that the Little Blue Lake really is aqua blue.

Take a step back in time at the Mt Paris Dam built in 1937 using only shovels and wheelbarrows, admire its scale, soak in its serenity.

The Derby Lapidary Club is a unique experience found in the heart of the town; it might inspire you to go panning for gemstones nearby in the Weld River.

Take an adventure down Mutual Road, it will bring you to a magnificent landing of the Ringarooma River. It’s a delightful spot with rocky, sandy terrain and crystal clear water.

Knee deep for little people to walk a fair way out before deep pools for proper swimming.

Want to stretch the legs, you can walk along Valley Ponds the dual access connector from Derby to Branxholm or follow the suspension bridge near the pump track to trail Lake Derby.

We can guarantee you’ll spot relics from our mining days.

After a spectacular view? Head to The Monument lookout, it forms part of bike trail Berms and Ferns but accessible by foot too.

Here there is an old gravesite, views and crisp fresh air we’re known for.
